What an ausipious day to begin my blog.
I am new to this aspect of the Internet, so bear with me, and as I get better, you will better enjoy the various topics on which I plan to write.
I just found out that I may not have a job at the end of the week. I have been in this job for over 13 years. The economy is not very good and I know that my boss, who happens to be a wonderful person, just cannot afford to pay me any longer. The problem is, how to I obtain employment at my age (65). I have a degree and 45 years of experience, most of it in the legal field. I do not have a pension of any kind, only Social Security, which barely pays my rent and utilities. I suppose I can apply for Food Stamps and perhaps a rent subsidy until I can, at least, obtain part-time work. I am optimistic and sad at the same time. But in a way, I knew this was coming.
The first thing I did was to cancel those small monthly items like Netflix, and Pogo Games. I have magicJack and so I can also cancel my landline. Since my car is 12 years old, I think I can also cancel the collision on it and perhaps get less coverage. I have no creditcard debt. Doing all of that, I will have approximately $30.00 a week for food and gas for my car. Well, I don't want to bore you with more details, you get the picture.
So, please follow my blog to see how I handle this hurdle in my life.
